Your water problably costs you more than you think.
We assume that water is an inert, but not all sources are identical. The water quality of the different sources is different. The difference comes from its cations: calcium, iron, manganese, lead, zinc. This is of great importance for the effect of certain pesticides.
The process, which affects the expected effect of the pesticide is the occurrence of an alkaline hydrolysis in the preparation of a mixture of water with an alkaline (pH> 7), i.e. when the water has cations. Cations attach to the prodcts which have a negative charge, and turn them into inactive compounds. This decomposition of the product begins as soon as the water mixes with it and is continued until the solution dries on the plant. The decomposition is permanent and irreversible. Factors that affect this process are:
- Susceptibility of the pesticide;
- PH of the water, the presence of cations in it;
- The temperature of the water;
- The amount of water;
- The dose of the pesticide;

How X-change resolves this problem?
X-Change "connects" the deactivative cations. It must be added to the water in the spray tank before applying the pesticide. In this case the total quantity of X-Change, which is added to the water, is unconnected and ready to be connected with exactly the cations that we aim.
The problem is in the alkaline hydrolysis, and X-Change prevents exactly it. Alkaline degradation of pesticides is almost always due to the hardness of the water. Many pesticides are unstable in alkaline and probably the most famous example is dimethoate (Bi 58). In less than one hour at pH 9, pH losses of active dimethoate are up to 50 % of the originally added in the spraying tank.
The rate of hydrolysis is measured by the half-life ( the time in which 50% of the product is hydrolyzed).
